Add Sales Tax or VAT to an Invoice
Use this when an invoice has to show tax on its own line, or more than one tax, on top of the amount for the work.
Steps
- Enter the items and their rates.
- Under Discount and taxes, press Add tax and enter its name, such as VAT, and its rate in percent.
- Press Add tax again for a second tax, for example GST and PST.
- Add a discount as a percentage or an amount if you give one.
- Check the subtotal, each tax and the total, then download the PDF.
Good to know
- Each tax is a percentage of the amount after the discount; no tax is charged on another tax.
- The tool does not know the tax rates or rules for your country. Enter the rate you have to charge.
