Questions
What metadata does PDF Cleanup remove?
It clears the document info fields (title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and any custom fields) and removes the embedded XMP metadata. With “Reset dates” on, the created and modified dates are set to 1 January 1970.
Will this make my PDF smaller?
Sometimes. The file is rewritten with a more compact structure, which can shrink it, but images inside the PDF are not recompressed. The tool shows the exact size change and tells you when the cleaned file is larger than the original.
Does it change the pages or text of my PDF?
No. Pages are copied as they are; only the document's metadata and file structure change.
Can it clean password-protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted or password-protected PDFs can't be rewritten. Remove the protection first, then clean the file.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is read and rewritten in your browser and saved straight to your device.
