Fix a photo a website won’t accept

Drop the file a site rejected, enter the format, dimensions, shape and file size it asked for, and see which checks fail and why. One click makes a copy that meets them, checked again.

How to use Fix My Upload
  1. Choose, drop, or paste the file.
  2. Enter the requirements you were given, or pick a quick fill close to them; each one is checked and every failure is explained.
  3. Press Fix it to make a new file that meets them; your original is not changed.
  4. Read the second check of the fixed file, then save it or open it in another tool.
Questions
Will the site accept the fixed file?
The fixed file meets the requirements you entered, and it is checked again to prove that. A site can still have rules this page cannot see, such as what the photo must show or a minimum size, so compare with its instructions before you upload.
In what order are the fixes applied?
First the photo is cropped to the required shape, evenly from both sides; then it is resized to the required dimensions; then it is saved in an allowed format; last it is compressed to the highest quality under the size limit. If it still does not fit and the dimensions are a maximum rather than exact, it is scaled down a little further until it does.
Is 1 KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
Limits are counted with 1 KB = 1,000 bytes, the stricter reading. A file under the limit here is also under it for a site that counts 1,024.
Is my original file changed?
No. The fix makes a new file named after yours with "-fixed" added; your original stays exactly as it was.
Can it fix PDFs?
It checks a PDF’s format and file size, and fixes a wrong file extension. It cannot shrink a PDF; if an image is required, it opens the PDF in PDF to Images for you.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The checks and the fix run in your browser and the file never leaves your device. The requirements you enter are remembered on this device for next time.
