Convert audio and video for free in your browser

Convert short audio and video clips between MP4, WebM, GIF, MP3, WAV, OGG and M4A in your browser; your file is never uploaded.

How to use Audio & Video Converter
  1. Choose or drop an audio or video file.
  2. Pick the output format; a format different from your file is selected for you.
  3. Convert, then save the result. The first conversion downloads the converter engine once.
Questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. Your file is converted in your browser by ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly and never leaves your device.
Why does the first conversion download something?
The converter engine (about 30 MB) is downloaded from a public CDN the first time you convert, and your browser then keeps it cached. Only the engine is downloaded; your file is not sent anywhere.
Which formats can I convert to?
Videos can become MP4, WebM, an animated GIF (silent, 10 frames per second, 480 px wide) or an MP3 with only the sound. Audio files can become MP3, WAV, OGG or M4A. Your last choice is remembered on this device.
How do I extract the audio from a video?
Choose “MP3 (sound only)”. If the video has no sound track, the tool tells you.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but conversion runs in your browser's memory, so long or very large videos can be slow or fail. Short clips work best.
