How to use Image Resizer
- Add one image or several.
- Type a width or a height; with Keep proportions off, type both and choose Fit, Crop, or Pad.
- Check the final size shown for each image, then save it, or save all as one zip.
Questions
- How do I resize without stretching the image?
- Keep proportions is on by default: type a width or a height and the other side follows the image's shape. With it off and both sides set, Fit, Crop, and Pad all keep the image's proportions too; nothing is ever stretched.
- What is the difference between Fit, Crop, and Pad?
- Fit scales the image to fit inside the size, so one side may come out shorter. Crop fills the size exactly and trims the edges that stick out, evenly from both sides. Pad fits the image inside and fills the rest to the exact size, transparent for PNG and WebP or white for JPEG.
- Will it make small images bigger?
- Not unless you want it to. "Don't enlarge smaller images" is on by default, so an image smaller than the size you asked for keeps its original scale and the tool tells you. Untick it to scale up.
- Can I resize many images at once?
- Yes. Add as many as you like; the same size applies to each, every image shows its final dimensions, and you can save them one by one or all as a zip. Images that fail are listed with the reason and left out of the zip.
- What format and name does the resized image get?
- JPEG and WebP stay in their format and PNG stays PNG; other formats such as GIF or BMP are saved as PNG. The final size is added to the name, for example photo-1200x800.jpg, so it never overwrites the original.
