Make an ATS-Friendly Resume PDF

Use this when you apply through an online job portal and want a resume whose text software can read, not a picture of text.

Steps
  1. Fill in your contact details, experience, education and skills.
  2. Write skills as lines such as “Languages: Python, SQL” so they print as labelled rows.
  3. Choose Classic or Modern for headings above the text, or Compact for headings in a side column.
  4. Download the PDF and try selecting its text: that is what the software reads.
Good to know
  • The text in the PDF is real text that can be selected and searched. No tool can promise how a particular employer’s system will rank it.
  • The font covers Latin (including Vietnamese), Greek and Cyrillic letters; other characters print as “?” and the tool warns you.
