Check a File With a Missing Extension

Use this when a download or attachment has no extension, or one that does not match, and will not open.

Steps
  1. Choose or drop the file.
  2. Read the Type it found.
  3. Open it in a suggested tool.
Good to know
  • PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF and WebP are recognised from their content even without an extension. Other kinds are recognised only by their name or type.
  • This does not rename or change your file.
