US Passport Photo, 2 × 2 Inches
Use this when you need printed photos for a US passport application and want to take the picture yourself.
Steps
- Choose a photo of your face against a plain white or off-white wall.
- Choose US passport (2 × 2 in) under Document.
- Move and zoom the photo until the top of your head and your chin sit inside the head guides.
- Save the print sheet as PDF or PNG and print it on 4 × 6 in photo paper at 100 % (Actual size).
- Measure one photo with a ruler: it should be exactly 2 × 2 in. Cut along the grey lines.
Good to know
- This sets the size and head position only. It cannot promise the photo will be accepted: expression, lighting, glasses and shadows matter too, so check the official rules linked in the tool.
- The background is not changed or removed. Take the photo in front of a plain, light wall.
