Fix “File Type Not Supported” When Uploading a Photo
Use this when an upload form says the file type is not supported, for example for an iPhone HEIC photo, a WebP image, or a file named .jpg that is really something else.
Steps
- Choose the file the site rejected.
- Under Allowed formats, choose the formats the site lists, such as JPG.
- Read the Format check: it says what the file really is.
- Press Fix it to convert the file, or to correct a wrong file extension.
- Save the fixed file and upload it.
Good to know
- A PDF cannot be turned into a photo here; the tool offers to open it in PDF to Images.
- Converting a transparent image to JPG fills the transparent areas with white.
